Civic act, children's rights day
Last Monday, November 10, our traditional civic event was held by 2nd grade students and Play group.
Children's Rights Day is celebrated on November 20 to commemorate the adoption of the Universal Declaration of the Rights of the Child in 1959 and the Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1989. This day seeks to promote and raise awareness of children's rights worldwide, including the right to health, education and protection.
Why November 20?
On November 20, 1959, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child.
On November 20, 1989, the General Assembly adopted the Convention on the Rights of the Child, an international treaty binding on signatory countries.
Objective of the day:
Promote brotherhood and understanding among the children of the world.
Raise awareness about the well-being of boys and girls.
Remember children's rights, such as access to education, health and protection from violence and abuse.
Importance:
The Convention on the Rights of the Child is the most ratified human rights treaty in history.
It sets out the responsibilities of adults and governments to ensure the rights and well-being of children.
