Civic Act, commemorating Indigenous Peoples' Day
On June 16th, the civic ceremony was held to commemorate Indigenous Peoples’ Day in our country, organized by 7th Blue. In addition, the importance of the value of diversity was highlighted, and the winners of the chess tournament held at our school were awarded.
In Chile, Law No. 21,357 established Indigenous Peoples’ Day at the beginning of the winter solstice, between June 21st and 24th of each year. This date is characterized by rituals and ceremonies of renewal and purification, celebrating the sun’s approach to the Earth and the beginning of a new sowing season.
t is celebrated by the Mapuche and Aymara peoples, and also includes the Atacameño, Colla, Quechua, Rapa Nui, Yámana or Yagán, Kawashkar or Alacalufe, among others.
